Join us as a Contracts Manager in the Chemical Analysis Division at Thermo Fisher Scientific. This is a unique opportunity to make an impact on a global scale, supporting our mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. This hybrid role can on-site at any of the Thermo Fisher sites in Hillsboro, OR, Greenville, NC or Pittsburgh, PA. Must be flexible to work various hours per international vendors and partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Review, negotiate, and draft various revenue-generating commercial, international and government-related contracts for assigned CAD business unit(s) in accordance with corporate and divisional policies and procedures
- Support the development and submission of customer-facing domestic and international tenders, RFP, RFQ, and RFI responses
- Assess contractual risk and provide contract guidance to internal cross-functional groups on legal, financial, regulatory, and other business concerns
- Collaborate with internal departments to review and assemble final contract packages for customers, suppliers, and projects, including coordinating diligence and business approvals for any non-standard terms
- Help with miscellaneous contract-related tasks needed to support generating revenue activities, like drafting letters, responding to to government and commercial customer questionnaires, supporting audits, reports, etc.
- Support third-party channel management for assigned CAD business unit(s), reviewing and approving third-party diligence and contract management
- Participate in any contract-related commercial team special projects (e.g., creating new contract templates, training other internal functional groups, supporting regional legal and commercial teams, etc.)
- Drive process improvement projects to enhance operational efficiencies and standardization such as establishing templates, standardizing playbooks, process updates, etc.
- Maintain accurate records within the contracts team's central repository and contract support center
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, along with relevant formal academic/vocational qualification
- 5+ years of commercial and international contracts experience, including contract negotiations, and pre and post RFP activities, preferably in an international manufacturing environment
- Must be flexible to work various hours per international vendors and partnerships
- Demonstrated experience in supporting complex, long-term, high-value contracts with a detailed understanding of commercial, domestic, and international legal terms and conditions and their contracting processes
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive relationships internally and externally at all levels of leadership, external customers, and government, as applicable
- Strong analytical and organizational skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage constantly evolving priorities
- Highly attentive individual who demonstrates a customer-centric approach, good judgment, strong work ethic, professional integrity, and attention to detail
- Interest and experience in the renewable energy industry preferred
- Advanced MS Office or Office 365 skills. Salesforce experience is a plus
