What You’ll Do

Are you energized by detail-driven work and motivated by helping attorneys navigate complex compliance requirements with confidence? As a CLE Compliance Analyst II, you’ll play a key role within the Risk Management Compliance team, supporting attorneys and Firm leadership in managing Continuing Legal Education (CLE) compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Reporting to the Associate Director of CLE Compliance, this position sits within the Risk Management Compliance department and works closely with colleagues across Risk Management and the Office of the General Counsel. You’ll help track attorney compliance, maintain accreditation, assess evolving regulatory requirements, and contribute to solutions that mitigate risk while strengthening operational integrity.

Location: Chicago or New York

Hours: Standard 35 hours per week

  • Compliance Tracking & Support – Partner with attorneys to monitor and track CLE compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring timely adherence to annual reporting deadlines.
  • Regulatory Subject Matter Expertise – Develop and maintain deep knowledge of Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Board requirements in tracked jurisdictions to guide attorneys and support compliance-related requests.
  • Program Accreditation & Credit Reporting – Maintain the Firm’s accreditation status, review programs for CLE eligibility, apply for CLE credit approvals, and report attendance credits to relevant MCLE Boards.
  • Risk Identification & Resolution – Conduct independent research and critical analysis of MCLE requirements, proactively identify potential compliance risks, and escalate issues with practical, solutions-oriented recommendations.
  • Process & Technology Improvement – Contribute to enhancements in workflows, procedures, and systems to increase efficiency, reduce risk exposure, and strengthen the integrity of CLE compliance operations.
  • Project Leadership & Department Support – Assist with and lead special projects, contribute to ad hoc initiatives, and provide overtime or coverage support when needed to meet department priorities.
  • Clear & Professional Communication – Respond to inquiries from attorneys, Risk Management leadership, and the Office of the General Counsel with timely, accurate, and service-oriented communication—particularly on time-sensitive matters.
  • Service Excellence & Collaboration – Deliver high-level, client-focused support to attorneys while building strong cross-functional relationships and contributing positively to team initiatives.
  • Responsiveness & Confidentiality – Provide support on urgent or sensitive matters, exercising discretion and sound judgment while recognizing when additional time or attention is required to meet department goals.

What You’ll Bring

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience – Approximately two years of related experience, including risk or compliance work; experience with CE Manager and Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred.
  • Legal Industry Knowledge – Familiarity with law firm operations and the legal regulatory landscape is strongly preferred.
  • Analytical & Critical Thinking Skills – Ability to evaluate complex regulatory information, identify potential risks, and recommend practical, well-reasoned solutions while working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Attention to Detail – Exceptional accuracy and consistency when managing confidential and sensitive information.
  • Communication Excellence – Strong written and verbal communication skills paired with a professional, service-driven approach.
  • Judgment & Discretion – Sound decision-making abilities and a demonstrated commitment to handling confidential matters with care.

Compensation

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in New York.
