Tesla is seeking a skilled Senior Counsel to join our Legal Team, with a focus on infrastructure and capital expenditures (CapEx). This role will play a critical part in supporting domestic and international transactions related to capital equipment procurement. The position involves close collaboration with business teams to navigate negotiations, draft contracts, and drive strategic initiatives, ensuring legal compliance and operational success in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
Lead negotiations for commercial agreements, including NDAs, supply agreements, equipment purchases, service contracts, and R&D partnershipsProvide legal advice on international trade law, regulatory compliance (e.g., export controls under EAR/ITAR), technology licensing, technology transfer agreements, or IP-intensive transactions Drive cost savings initiatives and implement strategic sourcing best practicesOffer guidance on operational transactions, such as joint development agreements, R&D partnerships, and warranty claimsTravel as required to support business objectives and transactional needs
What You'll Bring
Minimum of 10 years of experience handling complex commercial contracts, including purchase and sale agreements, services, equipment leases, letters of intent, and joint development agreementsExpertise in drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsProven ability to work independently, prioritize workflows, meet deadlines, and manage multifaceted projects in a fast-paced environmentJ.D. with strong academic credentials and admission to at least one U.S. state barCombination of law firm and in-house legal experienceExcellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for stakeholdersPractical business judgment and a proactive approach to addressing legal and operational challenges
