WORK OPTION: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week.


This role will provide paralegal support for the league's global compliance and integrity functions, with supplemental support to league lawyers in the areas of litigation, employment, and other legal matters.

Compliance Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and NBA's global Compliance team, including managing intake for the third-party risk due diligence process and maintaining compliance records.
  • Control and operate the global online due diligence system and provide support for other compliance systems.
  • Assist with new-hire compliance-related onboarding.
  • Perform research in the areas of sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, and improper corporate conduct.

Integrity Responsibilities

  • Manage and track annual NBA Gaming Policy distribution and compliance with education and training programs across all NBA Leagues, global offices, and teams;
  • Support League investigations into potential violations of the Policy, including tracking disciplinary outcomes;

Other Legal Support

  • Provide support for employment-related legal work, including research on legal developments and organization and maintenance of employment-related documents and information.
  • Provide general litigation support, which may include document collection and review, responding to third-party subpoenas, drafting, and maintenance of litigation case files.
  • Provide general support to league attorneys on special projects.

Required Education/Professional Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree with strong academic credentials
  • Minimum of 1 year paralegal or comparable experience

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, programming, document management software, and other software programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform independent project-based work, make independent decisions, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to think strategically and learn new tasks quickly.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information discreetly and professionally.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and complete tasks in a deadline-oriented environment.

Salary Range

$70,000 - $75,000
