Position Summary

The Real Estate Attorney plays a critical role in supporting Prime Communications national retail real estate portfolio. This position is responsible for drafting, negotiating, and managing a high volume of commercial real estate transactions while partnering closely with real estate, construction, finance, facilities, lease administration and executive stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, review, and finalize tenant-side transactional retail real estate documents, including letters of intent, leases, amendments, purchase and sale agreements, and related ancillary documents

• Support acquisitions, renewals, relocations, dispositions, and financing transactions across a national retail portfolio

• Assist in the development, maintenance, and governance of real estate leasing, development, and construction templates, standards, and playbooks

• Facilitate and coordinate internal stakeholder input regarding deviations from established legal and business standards

• Manage contract workflows, approvals, and tracking to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely execution

• Assist with contract issue resolution and provide risk-based legal guidance to business partners

• Conduct real estate due diligence, including review of title commitments, surveys, and title insurance policies and endorsements

• Support development teams in securing required governmental approvals, permits, and third-party consents

• Maintain current knowledge of evolving real estate, leasing, construction, and procurement legal concepts and best practices

• Collaborate with external counsel as needed to manage workload or jurisdiction-specific matters


  • Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school

• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Texas preferred)

• Minimum of five (5) years of commercial retail real estate legal experience

• Substantial experience drafting and negotiating commercial retail leases

• Experience closing purchases, sales, and financing transactions involving commercial real estate

• Retail real estate developer experience strongly preferred

• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance legal risk and operational priorities

• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with high attention to detail

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

• Litigation experience a plus

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills

• Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
