Position Summary

The Transportation Compliance Analyst will interact with the regions and their projects to understand trucking operations and provide the support necessary to ensure full compliance. It is up to the Analyst to assist each region in understanding any potential requirements and addressing their concerns.

Responsibilities

Driver qualification responsibilities:

Collaborating with the regions and their projects to ensure that any DOT driver hired, or any person hired who has the potential to drive a DOT vehicle, meets the qualifications prescribed by the DOT.

  • Qualifying drivers through online process – CDL and Non-CDL
  • Initiate annual DOT requirements – MVRs, physicals, etc.
  • Process drug and alcohol DOT testing through random pool and Clearinghouse

Equipment / Vehicle Maintenance /Reporting:

Ensuring vehicle maintenance files are up to date and inspection records are maintained, including proper maintenance certifications within each vehicle.

  • Annual reporting for UCR/IFTA
  • Plating of commercial motor vehicles
  • Quarterly reporting of mileage for IFTA
  • Keeping log of repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Preventative Maintenance Schedule
  • Annual vehicle inspection

DOT Incidents:

Ensuring all requirements for documentation and submission of the DOT are met:

  • DOT Recordable Accidents
  • Roadside inspections
  • DOT/FMCSA violations
  • DOT/FMCSA audits

Training:

Development and implementation of ongoing DOT training programs to ensure McCarthy’s drivers understand their responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in DOT compliance
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Field experience should include:
    • DOT Fleet Management
    • DOT Driver Qualifications Files
    • Management of a DOT Drug and Alcohol consortium
    • Administering hours of service (“HOS”) utilizing both ELDs and paper logs
  • Strong knowledge of the following:
    • Driver Qualifications
    • Apportioned plating
    • Vehicle maintenance and vehicle inspections
