About You
As a Senior Legal Counsel, Litigation, you thrive in environments that demand sound judgment, strategic thinking, and public accountability, bringing confidence and credibility to complex, high visibility legal matters. You approach challenges with discipline and adaptability, quickly synthesizing nuanced issues and translating them into clear, practical guidance that supports informed decision making. You are collaborative and service oriented, building trust across diverse stakeholders while balancing legal risk with operational and institutional priorities. Organized, resilient, and ethically grounded, you are motivated by contributing to work that serves the public interest and advances an organization with broad impact and responsibility.
What You Will Do
- Represents Massport in complex litigation matters across courts, administrative bodies, and regulatory forums, exercising sound judgment whether Massport is a plaintiff or defendant.
- Develops and recommends effective legal strategies across a broad range of substantive areas, balancing legal risk, precedent, and organizational priorities.
- Manages a diverse and active caseload, collaborating closely with outside counsel and guiding matters through all stages of litigation.
- Provides clear legal analysis and counsel to Massport staff, translating laws, case decisions, and regulatory developments into practical guidance that supports operations and policy decisions.
What You Offer
- J.D. from accredited law school required.
- Admission to Massachusetts Bar required.
- 10+ years civil litigation experience preferred, including substantial trial and motion experience before state and federal courts, experience with all aspects of the discovery process and summary judgment process and experience in preparing dispositive motions and supporting memoranda.
