May provide advanced in house litigation paralegal services in connection with state and federal lawsuits, arbitrations, claims, government inquires, subpoenas and regulatory proceedings involving the Company, including: intake of new cases; docketing of events; ensuring timely response; tenders of defense to insurers and indemnitors; organization, maintenance and control of responses to document production requests and subpoenas; creation and management of document databases; coordination of other discovery, including depositions and interrogatory answers; must be familiar with eDiscovery processes including the issuance of legal holds and electronic review of records for production in tools such as Relativity; liaison with designated outside counsel and their paralegal staff; contact court administrators and opposing counsel; liaison with internal clients and other departments; provide assistance to Legal Department attorneys; interpretation and implementation of contractual provisions regarding defense and indemnity. Conduct legal research and develop standard pleadings and documents. Maintain and update extensive departmental case management system (TeamConnect) which tracks status of all assigned cases and provides critical information for reporting to senior management. Utilization of TeamConnect includes monitoring budgetary requirements of outside counsel per our Retention Standards; opening new files; updating matter status notes, involved parties, dispositions, recoveries and settlements; maintaining calendars/appointments, contact cards and accurate allocations; approving invoices as required; entering expenses; monitoring service of process; closing and archiving matters; and preparing reports for the paralegal’s areas of responsibility. Assist with document and electronic information requests and production in litigation, regulatory investigations and governmental agency requests or subpoena.
