The Role

At Bitly, the legal team touches every part of the company. We negotiate the company’s sales and procurement contracts, oversee regulatory compliance, protect its values, and work with the finance, people, engineering, marketing, and product teams to enable business goals and manage risk.
 
As a paralegal, you'll work hand in hand with our sales team to close deals, assist with corporate governance, and help to manage our IP portfolio. You’ll make sure our trains run on schedule and balls don’t get dropped, and help us find new and innovative ways to keep our team efficient and effective as the company grows.

Our team is small, so the job is fast-paced and interdisciplinary. You’ll constantly be learning and will quickly become conversant in tech, policy, and finance, as well as areas of the law you never knew existed.

This role will be fully remote for the duration of the pandemic, live in a state where we currently have a Tax Identity. Bitly is committed to not asking any employee to come back to the office through September 2021. We take the health and safety of our employees seriously and will continue to assess when offices can be reopened.

What You'll Do:

    • Support corporate governance processes, including general recordkeeping, preparation of board and committee meeting agendas, presentations, resolutions, consents, minutes, and other materials.
    • Assist with compliance and corporate governance matters including periodic filings, required approvals and insurance renewals.
    • Work with the sales and customer success teams on customer requests for information, helping to provide the appropriate language, maintaining information regarding each request in an organized manner, and fielding questions as they arise.
    • Respond to requests for information and documents from partners, regulators, law enforcement, and other internal/external stakeholders.
    • Help manage Bitly’s privacy law compliance program.
    • Assist with trademark inquiries and other IP-related matters.
    • Identify areas to improve our existing processes, implement technology to increase team efficiency, and generally improve leverage across the team.
    • Support team with other projects or tasks on an as-needed basis, with the ability to work in a rapidly-changing environment.

Who You Are:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
    • 3+ years of relevant corporate paralegal experience with a law firm/in-house OR 3+ years of legal project management/operations experience
    • Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to process highly confidential data and maintain discretion.
    • Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent attention to detail and stellar proofreading skills.
    • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals at all organizational levels.

If based in Colorado, the annual cash compensation range for this position is $81,000 - $93,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
