JOB DESCRIPTION: PARALEGAL

We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join our expanding Legal Team! The ideal candidate is detail oriented, proactive, and able to juggle competing priorities with a collaborative and transparent approach. This is a generalist role focusing on supporting our Legal Team and other teams within the Operations Team headed by the Chief Operating Officer. The Paralegal will have a wide range of responsibilities and opportunities for growth and exposure to other areas in Operations beyond Legal. Some key areas include business entity registrations, data privacy projects, compliance matters, technology implementation and administration, project management, and other tasks as needed. There is some flexibility in the role to allow the individual to shape it to focus in areas of their professional interest, such as contract drafting, review and negotiation. This position reports to the Senior Director, Legal, who is focused and committed to help the individual move to the next step in his or her professional journey.

Responsibilities

Corporate Secretarial Work
  • Assist in the preparation of draft Board and Committee meeting minutes, maintain the official minute book of the corporation and related entities. This includes close cooperation with external counsel that supports these needs.
  • Assist with corporate matters including organization and management of international subsidiaries, business licenses, and business entity and state registrations
Data Privacy
  • Assist in the implementation of OneTrust and serve as a super user for the tool, as well as assist the team in the daily operation of OneTrust.

Contract Management
  • Assist in the implementation of a CLM system and serve as super user for the tool, as well as assist the team in the daily operation of the CLM system, which will include building workflows to create process efficiencies.
  • Opportunity to build up to contract review and negotiation experience

Compliance
  • Coordinate internal compliance documentation, training, and record-keeping in matters related to data privacy, information security, and general business compliance.

Experience
  • A bachelor’s degree required, JD preferred.
  • General interest in data privacy
  • Excellent written and communication skills, high emotional intelligence
  • Strong business partnering skills with a commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and transparency
  • Proactive entrepreneurial approach to recognizing needs, solving problems, anticipating issues and developing solutions
  • Sense of ownership and exceptional follow through skills are absolutely essential
  • Experience implementing and managing legal technology solutions, including change management
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable facing new challenges and changes in direction; flexibility in embracing frequent change
  • Experience with OneTrust and Ironclad a plus
