Our Legal and Compliance teams support the business by serving as trusted advisors and providing the highest quality service.

As a Senior Paralegal, you will be a member of the larger Legal and Compliance Team within the company’s Legal Department, providing investigation, compliance, contract review, and administrative support to the Contracts team and Compliance program. You will be responsible for general contract and compliance administration in a manner that supports the business teams, protects the company’s interests, and ensures that we operate with the highest ethical standards.You will work with internal stakeholders across the company, including members within Legal, Human Resources, Internal Audit and other business leaders who support the company’s global business. You will report directly to Assistant General Counsel, Commercial Transactions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in contract negotiations, including tracking changes, coordinating communications with internal clients and stakeholders, and facilitating the execution of agreements.

  • Monitor contract deadlines, renewals, and compliance, as well as receipt of notices and ensure that all necessary actions are taken in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate with Contracts Counsel and other members of the broad Legal team and other stakeholders to resolve any contract-related issues or disputes.

  • Create and maintain contract templates and forms based on BrandSafway’s standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Communicate with and train other departments to ensure that contract terms are understood and followed.

  • Maintain and organize an up-to-date contract database and keep record of reviews and approvals per internal policies and procedures. Assist with implementation, continued compliant use and enhancement of BrandSafway’s contract lifecycle management systems (e.g., Salesforce, GEMS and DocuSign CLM+), including through generation of periodic reports.

  • Assist the Insurance Administrator and Risk Management team with the issuance of Certificates of Insurance as needed.

  • Assist with internal certifications and processes to ensure federal contract compliance.

  • Work directly with internal stakeholders to implement Compliance strategy and to review company policies, procedures and processes supporting the Compliance program.

  • Manage the company’s ethics hotline and assign investigations to appropriate resources.

  • Maintain electronic files for compliance matters, including incident reports and ethics investigations.

  • Coordinate and monitor compliance and contracts training efforts.

  • Create standard and customized reports based on data extracted from the company’s compliance training and case management platforms, including executive-level reports and Board of Directors updates.

  • Manage third-party due diligence solution and review flagged reports to assess and escalate potential compliance risks.

  • Assist in developing policies, compliance and contracts training and communications.

  • Develop legal solutions while effectively managing practical business considerations.

  • Work collaboratively as a member of the Contracts and Compliance teams and provide support to the broader Legal team as needed.

  • Build rapport with internal clients and stakeholders to deliver exceptional service.

  • Understand legal and client business goals and how they impact the company’s commercial operations.

 

Qualifications

  • Possess a strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology, excellent communication, and negotiation skills, and be detail-oriented and analytical.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Operate with a high level of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and under tight time constraints and deadlines.

  • High degree of cultural and emotional intelligence.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Creative thinker and problem solver.

  • Preferred experience in internal investigations, executive reporting and Compliance programs.

  • Capable project manager.

  • Respectful and professional communication style with team members, internal clients, customers and vendors.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

  • Preferred 5-6 years of paralegal experience.

  • Paralegal degree/certifications.

  • Notary Public.

  • Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) or Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM).
