Description

As an Employment and Enterprise Paralegal, you will provide comprehensive paralegal support to our in-house legal team. The Employment and Enterprise Paralegal will assist with various employment, litigation, and compliance legal matters, including but not limited to, employment and regulatory filings, records management, litigation management, investigations, compliance processes and tools, and legal research. The successful candidate will work closely with attorneys and cross-functional teams to ensure legal processes and documentation are accurate and compliant with applicable laws and regulations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with Verily’s Legal and People & Culture teams on various aspects of employment, benefits, and labor matters such as: federal, state, and local filings (e.g., EEO-1, AAP, CA Pay Reporting, Vets 4212); records management; employee and contractor questions; HR practices; separation agreements; compensation and benefits; performance improvement plans; benefit plans; NLRB-related issues; internal investigations; and state and federal employment administrative complaints, investigations, and audits.
  • Work with Verily’s Trust and Compliance team on processes, tools, internal investigations, conflicts of interest, trade compliance, and third party due diligence.
  • Collaborate efficiently and effectively across legal and business functions in a manner that adds value, balances risk, and protects the company’s reputation. 
  • Assist in maintaining accurate employment, litigation, and compliance records.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree or paralegal certificate or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department with relevant employment, litigation, and compliance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance and compliance principles.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certification.
  • Experience in the healthcare or life sciences industry.
  • Experience with non-US employment and compliance issues.
  • Ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment. 
  • Familiarity with intellectual property and regulatory compliance matters.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $92,000 - $142,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
