We are seeking a motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our team, specializing in reckless driving and DUI defense. The ideal candidate will have a passion for criminal defense, strong litigation skills, and a commitment to advocating for clients' rights.

Compensation

$75,000 - $150,000 yearly

Responsibilities

• Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
• Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
• Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals
• Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations
• Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
• Represent clients in court for reckless driving and DUI cases.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Develop case strategies and manage cases from inception to resolution.
• Negotiate with prosecutors and other legal representatives.
• Provide legal advice and counsel to clients.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to reckless driving and DUI.

Qualifications

• Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA)
• Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
• Successful completion of the bar exam
• Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
• Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Virginia.
• No experience necessary, but 1-3 years of experience in criminal defense preferable with a focus on reckless driving and DUI cases
• Strong understanding of State DUI and Traffic laws.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and work independently.
• High ethical standards and professional integrity.
