SUMMARY: Aspen is seeking an exceptional attorney for the role of Corporate Counsel to support our rapidly expanding electric vehicle, energy storage materials, and energy infrastructure businesses. The Corporate Counsel will work in a fast-paced environment with a broad range of transactional, legal and compliance matters helping the legal team support the business. The Corporate Counsel will work closely with legal, business, operational and technical teams and will have a strong understanding of applicable U.S. and international legal regimes and key concepts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Corporate Counsel will help legal and business teams with various legal and compliance issues, including:
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
• Assisting various business functions, including sales, business development, finance, product management, operations, supply chain, and quality navigate legal, regulatory and other compliance issues.
• Assisting Aspen’s compliance team with securities laws and reporting; creating, maintaining or advising on relevant policies and procedures
• Supporting litigation, company secretarial, regulatory, and employment matters
• Performing a variety of additional ad hoc legal matters as necessary

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of experience in-house or at a law firm
• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission with good standing to a state bar, preferably Massachusetts
• Pre-law school business experience a plus
• Experience with commercial contracts and advising businesses on legal issues either in a law firm or in-house setting
