Legal.io is working with a top healthcare company to hire commercial counsel for a 12-month assignment.

What You’ll Do:

1) Work with sales, marketing and operations teams in a fast-paced environment to understand purpose of contract and draft redlines, provide alternative language, and think creatively to achieve business needs while reducing risk to the company.

2) Act as contract manager and primary point-of-contact within Legal in connection with:

• Purchase and Equipment Lease Agreements
• Confidential Disclosure Agreements
• Equipment Placement Agreements
• Business Associate Agreements

3) Draft and update templates, playbooks, and language repositories for marketing, sales and

healthcare agreements.

4) Manage follow up communications with business personnel throughout the contracting

process.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ YOE
• Substantial experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including Purchase Agreements, Distribution Agreements, Equipment Lease Agreements, Supply Agreements, Business Associate Agreements, HCP Agreements, Services Agreements, and Non- disclosure Agreements. Previous experience with sales-related healthcare agreements a plus.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of key terms and concepts in commercial contracts, (e.g., indemnities, warranties, confidentiality).
• Ability to work closely with diverse groups within and outside of the Legal organization and clearly communicate with multiple stakeholders / organizations within a company to facilitate an efficient contracting process, including describing basic contract terms and risks to business partners and decision-makers.
• Experience building language repositories, playbooks, and working with contracting teams highly desired.
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a busy environment with competing priorities.
• Ability to create action plans and execute procedures and processes to support attorneys.
• General understanding of legal environment and resources.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently on repetitive tasks.
• Ability to feel comfortable making reasonable judgement calls and independently thinking through logical next steps in order to efficiently complete tasks independently.
• Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, strong organizational skills, and good research and analytical skills.
• Advanced skills needed are with MS Office 365 (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and Document compares. Previous experience with Onit and Icertis is a plus.
• JD from top school
• Licensure in Illinois

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience at health care products company

Role Details:

• Anticipated Start Date: July 2021
• Duration: 12 months
• Schedule: 40hrs/week
• Pay Rate: $70/hr - $90/hr
