About the role

What you need to know:

AIG Staff Counsel workers compensation trial attorneys provide legal advice and representation to AIG and/or the insured in legal matters while minimizing legal and indemnity exposure. In doing so, the position requires attorneys to examine reports, evidence and other relevant data to determine advisability of proceeding with litigation; analyze probable outcomes through knowledge and research of legal precedents; develop and execute trial and/or pre-trial strategy for the most cost effective outcome; draft legal papers, perform research, and handle project work for the office, and; negotiate settlements on behalf of the insured and/or AIG.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experienced workers compensation attorney
  • Must have a Juris Doctorate degree
  • California State Bar membership in good standing required
  • Familiarity with various Boards, their procedures, policies and personnel.
  • Excellent computer skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Outlook and Excel as well as video and video conferencing abilities.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to handle full Workers Compensation caseload including trials.
