This is a remote-eligible position based out of our Financial Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota. JOB SUMMARY Under direction of the General Counsel, this position will lead and support workout, legal collections and complex commercial lending transactions in a national footprint as well as special projects. This position will oversee outside counsel to manage complex workout matters and specialty or complex transactions. This position will also provide overall legal support to the bank and its business units. This position is responsible for the effective leadership and supervision of the Document Review Team and Equipment Finance Department (EFD) - Accounts Receivables team and will provide leadership within the Legal team. RESPONSIBILITIES Support the General Counsel in managing a comprehensive range of legal matters, specialty programs and strategic projects. Analyze, develop and oversee workout and collection strategies on problem loans and provide reports to senior management of the same. Research legal issues, statutes and regulations, advise the General Counsel and senior management on recommendations. Manage day to day operations, compliance, and efficiencies of the EFD Accounts Receivable and Document Review teams. Be a strategic leader in developing, implementing and administering processes, standards and metrics, manage staffing and measure production for the teams. Hire, develop and coach, conduct performance reviews for teams. Assure that training and cross-training is provided, and collaboration and teamwork is reinforced. This position may manage will manage one or more attorneys and paralegals in overseeing specialized areas of legal support, including vendor management, corporate, legal process and/or bankruptcy matters. Draft and negotiate agreements for complex transactions, for the EFD business (such as private label and referral agreements) and for special projects. Engage and manage outside counsel in a national footprint. Evaluate the exposure and risks of identified deficiencies and comply with loan policy, regulatory requirements, and agency (SBA, USDA, etc.) guidance for loan origination and servicing. Assist in the development of streamlined and improved procedures and processes. Recommend safeguards and improved efficiencies to minimize exposure. Maintain a working knowledge of all legal and regulatory compliance issues as they pertain to this position. Provide guidance in loss prevention and security as applicable for this position.
