Facebook seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player to serve as Associate General Counsel to the company. In this role, you will advise the Facebook Reality Labs on all aspects of competition matters throughout the world, including investigations and inquiries, product counseling, and M&A. In this position, you will work cross-functionally with legal, research, engineering, and business teams to launch new augmented reality devices, such as Oculus, Portal by Facebook, and new AR/VR devices. This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented individual to join a growing legal team and work on cutting edge issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment with a broad and interesting remit.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze products, policies and initiatives from FRL to provide practical competition risk mitigation strategies across multiple jurisdictions, including evaluating the impact of pending and developing competition regulations.
  • Represent the company in connection with competition inquiries and investigations into FRL by regulators across the world. Responsible for coordinating competition legal support for FRL globally.
  • Advise Facebook Reality Labs on proposed mergers and acquisitions. Develop and execute our legal strategy in connection with review of mergers and acquisitions by competition regulators.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to develop, coordinate and implement long-term competition strategy.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on developments in the areas of augmented reality and virtual reality and benchmark against emerging consumer technologies. Develop policy and frameworks for scalable anti-competition training and support models.
Minimum Qualification
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 8+ years of relevant legal competition experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience with internet or technology companies working on competition matters.
  • Experience developing innovative and pragmatic approaches to complex legal challenges with a proven track record in providing concise and business-focused legal advice.
  • Experience representing companies in antitrust inquiries including experience conducting investigations and merger reviews.
  • Experience working with Internet and technology companies.
  • Interpersonal skills with an absolute commitment to professionalism and collegiality.
Preferred Qualification
  • In-house experience working for a consumer product or technology company.
  • Experience addressing legal issues related to technology platforms, product lines and ecosystems.
  • Experience with European and competition laws and regulators.
