Facebook seeks a highly motivated attorney who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact in peoples’ lives to join Facebook’s privacy counseling legal team. The ideal candidate will provide privacy legal support for Facebook's youth-related products and experiences, and will have significant cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, policy, operations, and business teams, as well as other legal subject matter experts. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment, as we build and scale for our global community.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in areas of data use and privacy laws globally and advise on the impact of the same on Facebook’s business
  • Assist product lawyers in evaluating the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and enforcement actions
  • Support members of the business and policy teams on privacy related community and business integrity issues
  • Assist in the development and conduct of general and role-specific privacy trainings across Facebook
Minimum Qualification
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
  • 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience
  • Experience advising on privacy legal risks and mitigations
Preferred Qualification
  • Working knowledge of youth related privacy issues and laws (e.g., COPPA)
  • Working knowledge of relevant privacy laws such as CCPA, GDPR or LGPD
  • In-house experience with applicable litigation, regulatory, or product counseling, particularly at a technology or social media company
  • Experience explaining topics and gaining support and consensus from multiple stakeholders
  • Business judgment and client counseling experience
