Facebook is seeking a talented and flexible Associate General Counsel to support its growing efforts in the commerce space. You will be advising the company on e-commerce related initiatives and should be knowledgeable about privacy, product and regulatory frameworks relevant to digital commerce platforms. You will also work with Facebook's international teams and will advise on relevant global issues in consultation with local counsel. You will regularly meet with product teams and other cross-functional partners. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities
  • Review commerce products, features and business initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies across multiple jurisdictions
  • Provide and coordinate legal advice across complex and multifaceted legal issues such as data protection and privacy, intermediary liability, consumer protection, competition and other global legal frameworks
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze and communicate legal risks to the business
  • Coordinate with public policy, communications, product management, engineering, product marketing and other cross-functional teams on product development and launches
Minimum Qualification
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) with membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • 8+ years of legal experience, including in-house experience with internet or technology companies and/or relevant work at a law firm
Preferred Qualification
  • Excellent legal judgment and strategic thinking, along with experience working both independently and cross-functionally
  • Experience working in a product counsel role building and supporting e-commerce technology products
  • In house experience at an online retailer or e-commerce marketplace, preferably with international scope
