This position will be responsible for providing general legal support to the U.S. and global Oncology Development and Commercialization groups of Bristol-Myers Squibb, a biopharmaceutical company.

Overview:

The lawyer will be involved in all aspects of the U.S. and Global Oncology Development and Commercialization organization and operate as part of a Law Department focused on providing excellent, pragmatic, and solutions oriented legal service to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • The lawyer will be responsible for advising clients in the marketing and sales organizations on a broad array of issues relating to FDA and other regulations governing the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, advertising, marketing, including the use of new digital communications platforms, anti-kickback and bribery issues, antitrust, regulatory policy, and contracts.

  • The lawyer will also be responsibility for counseling clients in the Oncology Development organization on a broad array of issues relating to clinical development of new and existing assets, including interactions with investigators, and scientific exchange.

  • The lawyer is also expected to anticipate and proactively identify legal issues that could affect the Company as a whole and advise clients on how to resolve these issues.

  • The lawyer will work on cross functional business teams, and also work with other lawyers in the Law Department to provide comprehensive advice to clients.

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years of legal experience, preferably with a law firm that advises companies in highly regulated industries on their advertising, marketing, promotional, public relations strategies and activities.

  • Bachelor’s degree and JD. Bar admission in one state.

  • Experience advising clients developing advertising and promotion using innovative technical platforms (including social media).

  • Experience working with clients in biotech, healthcare or other regulated industries is helpful (but not required).

  • Experience with the Food & Drug Regulations, the Anti-Kickback Law and/or Privacy Laws is preferred but not required.

  • Candidate must also have excellent interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, qualities as a self-starter, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
