What does a great Senior Counsel do?
As a Senior Counsel, you would provide legal support to Fiserv’s fast-paced, card issuer processing business which provides outsourced services to banks and other transaction card issuers. As the selected candidate, you would draft and negotiate agreements with banks and other parties; provide counsel to sales, account management, product, and technology leaders on legal and business matters; and collaborate closely with company specialists regarding intellectual property, technology, privacy, security, regulatory, and litigation matters..

As a Senior Counsel, you could look forward to:
  • Being a part of a congenial and collaborative legal team
  • Providing counsel and legal advice on client and other contracts; critical initiatives; corporate policies and procedures; regulatory issues; and data use and privacy
  • Working directly with business unit representatives to draft and negotiate client and other commercial contracts for bank-facing businesses
  • Advising business partners on legal, contractual, and risk matters impacting their areas of responsibility
  • Effectively interacting with corporate specialists regarding finance, audit, regulatory, privacy and technology matters
  • Developing and maintaining forms of contracts and other legal documentation

Basic qualifications for consideration:
  • JD from accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice, or ability to become licensed to practice, in appropriate jurisdiction
  • In good standing with State Bar with no disciplinary record
  • 5+ years of proven experience negotiating, drafting, and redlining contracts, or other applicable legal experience

  • Ability to travel 10%
Preferred qualifications for consideration:
  • Credit card, payments, or banking industry experience, including experience with regulatory issues in these industries
  • Experience interacting with senior business leaders, either as in-house or outside counsel
  • Exposure to financial services and technology contracts
  • Confident, driven, legal professional with excellent drafting and verbal communication skills
