What you’ll achieve

Boomi subsidiary is looking for someone pragmatic, to join the in-house legal team in the U.S., and to help with "whatever is needed in Legal," as we build new systems and separate from Dell. This company has multiplied in size over the past four years and we aim to do it again.

You will:

• Flexibly help solve needs as this team evolves, including likely taking a number of purchasing and licensing deals, a number of sales deals, and helping create ways to address an increasing volume of privacy questions
• On the transaction side, we always focus on getting deals done in a smart and speedy way
• Make recommendations of ways we can continue to be better while coordinating with the team on what's attainable for the group
• Be willing to take on new tasks as the business evolves
• Act like an owner: Follow through to be sure the right steps were taken

Essential Requirements

• A J.D. degree with admission to at least one state bar with 5+ years’ experience in a role doing corporate transactions in a law firm and/or in-house legal environment
• Demonstrated excellence in at least one past relevant field; excellent negotiations and contract drafting skills, and ability to adapt to new needs that may include helping answer privacy questions
• Ability to work well with our customers and our sales teams and ability to influence leaders to get to the right outcome
• Ability to spot Issues where the company should be saying "no" or need to spend extra cycles to handle a non-standard issue properly
• Emotional intelligence, clear writing, attention to detail and anticipating "what could go wrong" - all while multi-tasking and maintaining a healthy sense of humor and setting expectations on what's reasonable and doable
• Ability to approach for the overall business (feel free to argue for why any given deal is different) and (c) speak up if an issue needs attention

Desirable Requirements

• Experience in negotiating software licenses, SaaS agreements and / or privacy
• Experience with some past litigation or compliance projects is a plus but not mandatory
