Position Summary
As a team, the Legal Division is responsible for handling all legal matters for the Company including regulatory filings, SEC and CFTC compliance, contract drafting/review, corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, disputes, litigation, etc. This particular role will be focused on reviewing, drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts. This individual will also be expected to handle a number of other general corporate legal matters.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft and negotiate a variety of contracts on a daily basis, including services agreements, license agreements, technology agreements, marketing agreements, non-disclosure agreements, lease agreements and other agreement types.
- Assist in the development or enhancement of templates, policies and processes to help create efficiencies in the contracting process.
- Assist in managing outside counsel work on general corporate matters.
- Other legal support for Company activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate required (from an accredited institution).
- Member of applicable state bar.
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of directly related experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
- Knowledge of relevant substantive legal areas, including intellectual property, licensing, privacy and data protection.
- Working knowledge of general securities industry, financial markets and/or derivatives markets – preferred.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, as well as document management and other office technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to understand complex contractual issues, assess risk and provide pragmatic recommendations to all levels of management.
- Ability to independently manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
