Role Purpose NBCUniversal, one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies, is seeking to hire a regulatory paralegal for its Washington, DC, office.
Responsibilities:
Manage multiple regulatory databases, including a company-wide master list of FCC licenses, a compliance reminder and tracking system and a master FCC calendar
Monitor FCC Daily Digest, Federal Register and other sources for deadlines and other matters affecting NBCUniversal
Proofread and file applications and other documents in the FCC’s electronic filing systems, including LMS, ULS and MyIBFS; conduct surveys of officers and directors for biennial ownership reports
Assist in the compilation and filing of annual Children’s Programming Reports
Train station staff in FCC requirements for reporting on children’s programming and maintaining public inspection/political files; draft and submit quarterly and annual USAC reports
Assist in preparation of annual regulatory fee filings
Assist in preparation of certifications regarding close captioning and commercial limits compliance
Interact directly with FCC staff to troubleshoot filing systems and other matters
Provide additional support to the Regulatory Affairs team as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Paralegal certificate preferred
3+ years of relevant experience as a paralegal and/or equivalent experience in a law firm or corporate setting or a J.D. from an accredited law school
Proficiency with software programs, including the suite of programs in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
