Job Summary:

The Music Business and Legal Affairs Department of Disney General Entertainment Content is seeking qualified candidates for a Paralegal position.
This position focuses on both domestic and international matters for multiple lines of business including television, Disney+, Star/Star+, theme parks, Disney Online, digital distribution and Consumer Products. The role requires someone who can assist in reviewing, negotiating, and drafting various music related agreements. This person will also conduct research, develop, and maintain standard forms.

The ideal candidate will be extremely detail-oriented. They must also be very organized and be able to multitask and prioritize in order to meet multiple deadlines. They must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and be able to work closely with all levels of internal and external executives. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have strong communication skills, and demonstrate an interest in learning about multiple businesses and music legal and business affairs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of paralegal experience in the entertainment industry, preferably with a law firm or major studio and preferably with an emphasis on music.
  • Knowledge of applicable legal procedures, terminology, policies, and standards.
  • Familiarity with music production and distribution in various types of media.
  • Significant attention to detail and skilled in spotting issues and mistakes in legal documents.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Superior contract law knowledge.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Can confidently handle project ownership from start to finish.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and meeting deadlines within a challenging, fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Ability to exercise judgment to appropriately discern when to escalate issues.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working under pressure.
  • Must be a team player and self-starter.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and office-related software.

Required Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience. Paralegal certification preferred.
