Hinge Health is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Product  Counsel to join our legal team.  This role will focus on supporting our clinical, compliance, marketing and product teams development and launch of innovative new products and services in the healthcare space. The Product Counsel will also have the opportunity to work on projects outside the product and regulatory sphere as the need arises. This is a unique opportunity to join a small team as we grow, both as a team and a company.  You’ll work closely with other lawyers on our team, as well as in close coordination with the business groups you’ll support, including access to leadership.  This role provides a clear path for growth and endless opportunities to learn.
 
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who loves to learn, and is willing to roll up their sleeves and dive in.  We are looking for someone with experience advising healthcare companies on legal and regulatory risks who is also interested in pitching in in other areas, as the work allows.  The ideal candidate has a base set of skills and a hunger and excitement for learning more, honing their existing skill set and growing as an attorney at Hinge Health.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Enable stakeholders to achieve product initiatives. Help spot potential legal and regulatory issues in company initiatives and collaborate with cross functional teams to provide insight and think creatively to address risks and help to move initiatives forward.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory issues are addressed in the development and evolution of products and services.  Learn about and develop understanding of Hinge Health products and services through constant collaboration with product and R&D stakeholders; provide timely legal and regulatory guidance to those stakeholders; and ensure such guidance is taken into consideration.
  • Research legal and regulatory matters related to products and services, and ensure key stakeholders are advised on potential risks. Research risks and  keep up-to-date and informed of legal and regulatory developments to provide prompt advice to stakeholders, including risks related to healthcare, F.D.A., IP and privacy requirements.
  • Promote a culture of compliance at all levels of the organization. Keep stakeholders informed of legal and regulatory matters in a manner that is easily digestible for non-experts and ensure a clear understanding of recommendations and guardrails.
  • Develop resources and generate efficiencies in legal processes. Execute on the legal team’s product-related knowledge management strategy, and maintain product-focused legal resources, guidance documents and trainings to aid internal teams in developing products and services.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Qualified to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction (CA-barred or ability to register as in house counsel in CA preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare legal and regulatory requirements or as product counsel (both strongly preferred)
  • Experience both in house and in a nationally recognized law firm preferred
  • Attention to Detail - Ability to spot and process material issues across a range of legal and regulatory issues.
  • Organization and Planning (Multi-Tasking) - Ability to manage multiple legal projects in parallel and drive to completion. 
  • Honesty/Integrity - Earns trust and maintains confidence.
  • Creativity - Look for and identify new and original solutions to help business partners solve issues.

Colorado & New York State annual salary: $136,000 - $170,000
New York City annual salary: $160,000 - $200,000
