Your Career

Global Ethics Team Workplace Investigations Counsel will lead The Americas workplace investigations and provide guidance and assistance to colleagues in connection with all global workplace investigations, ethics related training, and communications efforts. The role includes a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: leading all facets of workplace investigation efforts and assisting with management of workplace litigation efforts; helping to build a consistent investigations framework, including drafting and implementing related policies, procedures, and guidelines; preparing and delivering compliance communications and training to employees and third-parties; and partnering with cross-functional teams in connection with implementation of various compliance projects. This will be a pivotal role in ensuring the Company remains compliant with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements in a dynamic and constantly evolving legal landscape.

You will work closely with Employee Relations, Human Resources, Public Sector, Information Security, and Professional Services teams along with various teams across the Legal Department.

Your Impact

  • Mature and manage the Company’s workplace investigations program, including personally leading workplace investigations in the Americas, and supporting global investigations as needed
  • Act as the Company’s subject matter expert for workplace investigations and related compliance efforts, including promotion of a vibrant Speak Up culture and driving employee engagement and compliance awareness
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the People Team and other global business stakeholders, including building an effective partnership with employment counsel around the world
  • Create and lead global compliance communication and training efforts relating to multiple global employment and general compliance efforts, including management training, respect in the workplace training, anti-bribery and corruption, handling of concerns and investigations
  • Draft, update, and support implementation of compliance policies, procedures, and guidance
  • Assist in the performance of periodic compliance risk assessments, contract reviews, and implementation of compliance controls
  • Support preparation of executive updates, training, and communications, including briefings for members of the executive team, audit committee, and external auditors
  • Assist members of the Global Ethics Team in connection with questions, review, and advice relating to conflicts of interest, business courtesies, and other related corporate expenditures
  • Partner and support cross-functional compliance engagement with internal and external stakeholders

Your Experience 

  • A U.S. law degree from an ABA accredited law school and an active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar, with eligibility for admission for Multijurisdictional Practice in California or equivalent military experience required
  • 8+ years of a combination of U.S. workplace investigations and labor & employment experience
  • General public company compliance experience, including familiarity with the DOJ’s Evaluation of Corporate Compliance Programs
  • Demonstrated success in successfully leading workplace investigations and overseeing employment litigation efforts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, superior work ethic, good business judgment, ability to navigate ambiguity, and equal comfort in working independently and in teams
  • Superior English language, written, and verbal communication skills are a must for success in this role
  • Nimble, flexible, and able to work well with cross-functional teams while supporting numerous projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Experience managing and overseeing orderly operations of a global ethics helpline and familiarity with compliance and e-discovery tools
  • Comfort in delivering communications and training to a globally dispersed workforce
  • In-house experience with a U.S. public company, including handling international employment and investigations matters strongly preferred
  • Fluency in another language is a plus

The Team

Global Ethics Team is a part of the Legal Department and is responsible for providing compliance advice and guidance to employees and business partners, conducting internal investigations, managing and implementing the Global Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and attendant policies, compliance communications and training, third-party risk management, and general legal and compliance support.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be between $172,000/yr to $278,200/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found  here .
