_ **Position Overview

** The purpose of this position is to assist the Legal Department in actively supporting a dynamic, growing business by providing project and organizational management of the operations function within the Legal Department including, but not limited to, managing the end to end lifecycle of the legal intake process, coordination of work flow within the Legal Department, preparation of ad-hoc reports and documentation, development of an automated contract inventory and document management system, and managing legal projects and strategic initiatives, in conjunction with the General Counsel.

**Role & Responsibilities

**

  • Manages day-to-day legal operation workflow for department
  • Directs both the legal intake and document management systems to maintain data integrity and ensure prompt assignment of matters to attorneys for legal review
  • Drives and influences advancement of the team’s core operational areas such as strategic planning, technology, vendor management, business intelligence, and program management
  • Leads and supports cross-functional projects and initiatives and global functions on behalf of the Legal Department
  • Uses industry research and analysis of internal data across the organization and relevant industries to identify best practices for specific tasks, matter types and documents
  • Creates documentation, reports, and related work through a project lifecycle and ensures that assigned duties and responsibilities/project results are completed
  • Maintains and distributes project plans and associated information
  • Responsible for the coordination of department SharePoint site and content
  • Liaises with other departments, including IT, Human Resources, Executive, and Finance to support the adoption of Legal Project Management (LPM) concepts, methods, and tools
  • Provides training on legal tools and technology
  • Hires, trains, and directs workflow of temporary administrative employees, as necessary
  • Performs other tasks as assigned

**Qualifications

**

  • Bachelors Degree in business or business related field is preferred but not required.
  • Five years in a law firm or corporate legal department is required
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, problem solving, and implementation

of approved solutions

  • Strong interpersonal, written/oral communication and management skills
  • Experience reviewing and implementing process and technology improvements
  • Understands the team concept, has a strong desire to be a contributing teammate and ability to operate cross-functionally
  • Ability to uphold the highest standards of discretion and confidentiality and exercise good judgment on day-to-day decisions
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem solving skills with proven track record
  • Self-motivated; committed to innovation and creative solutions

Coaction requires employees to sit onsite 3 days a week in conjunction with our hybrid work schedule.
