** **Job Description

** The Director, Legal Operations will assist the SVP, Legal to execute the company's legal and regulatory strategic roadmap and drive continuous improvement. This position will develop the annual budget for the department, implement and administer technology solutions and processes, drive and supervise compliance initiatives, and other projects as assigned by the SVP, Legal. This position will facilitate an outside counsel management program and drive other cost control initiatives. The individual must be able to work proactively with various teams across the company, including Risk Management, IT, HR and Finance.

**Job Functions

**

  • Strategic Planning: Supports the development of the Legal Department's strategic plans and objectives; develops strategies to provide efficient, cost effective, high quality legal services; drives tracks and reports on the progress of the department against plans and objectives. (10%)
  • Budgeting: Assists SVP, Legal with operating budget planning and management, and regularly updates and monitors the budget to control costs. Creates systems, policies and processes for maximum efficiency and consistency of legal spend. (10%)
  • Compliance Program Management: Implements, supports and reinforces business and data management processes to ensure compliance with data privacy, anti-bribery and corruption (ABC) programs and other Code of Conduct requirements throughout the company; supports management on various regulatory audit/compliance engagements; woks with members of the IT Data Privacy/Cyber Security, Legal, Marketing, and Risk & Regulatory teams to ensure ongoing compliance with privacy and ABC requirements, evaluate/remediate privacy and vulnerability risks, and improve data processes. Requires handling of highly sensitive and confidential information. (30%)
  • Technology Implementation and Administration: Develops, implements and enhances department processes, systems and tools, including legal matter management system and reasonable accommodations system; serve as business system owner for IT projects; support and drive departmental initiatives, including the use of technologies to create efficiencies. (25%)
  • Outside Counsel and Vendor Management: Designs, implements and manages a comprehensive external legal resource management program; program should include tools, policies and processes for outside counsel expenses. (15%)
  • Special Projects: Assists with special projects as needed. (10%)

**Education

**

  • Undergraduate - Bachelors Degree

**Work Experience

**

  • 8 - 10 years - Project Management and/or Operations Management - Preferred
  • 5 - 7 years - IT system implementation and administration - Preferred
  • 5 - 7 years - Financial and/or data analysis - Preferred
  • 5 - 7 years - Strategic planning, budget management and reporting - Preferred
