What You'll Do

The Compliance Manager is responsible for supporting the Legal team at Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. The position will directly support the Vice President of Legal regarding day-to-day functions related to company’s regulatory and compliance obligations and initiatives. The Compliance Manager is critical to managing risk associated with casino operations, products and services offered to customers. This role is also responsible for interpreting regulations, auditing operational processes, and ensuring compliance with federal, state and gaming ordinances.

ROLES EXPECTATIONS

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain a working knowledge or relevant Nevada Gaming Regulations
  • Act as a resource for operations in interpreting and monitoring compliance with provisions of the system of Internal Controls
  • Work with leadership from multiple departments to ensure operational compliance with all Federal and Nevada regulatory requirements.
  • Assist Human Resources with gaming registration and county work card requirements.
  • Support the implementation of, provide guidance for, and monitor compliance with the Compliance Plan
  • Exercises judgment based on prior experience, training, and education.
  • Issue, track and conduct follow-up on Compliance exception reports.
  • Prepare reporting and other materials required for the function of the property Compliance Department
  • Ensures Responsible Gaming materials are deployed for the property in compliance with Nevada regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation and ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory filings to Nevada Regulatory Authorities
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient and compliant operation of the casino property.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of related gaming compliance experience in Nevada government agency, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Nevada Gaming Control Board registration.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job
  • Strong organizational skills, solution-driven, analytical thinker.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proactive with an attention to details.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 21 years of age.

PREFERRED

  • Experience working in a similar work setting.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
  • Must regularly lift and/move up to 10 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
