JOB PURPOSE:

The Exec Dir Investigations & Analyses will be responsible for overseeing concern report investigations including coordination with outside counsel on matters that may ultimately require self-disclosure and/or other administrative actions. Oversight of concern report investigations includes supervising Compliance Officers and other staff (including contracted attorneys and investigators) assigned to conduct investigations.  Additionally, the Executive Director will be accountable for compiling and communicating internal and external investigation statuses, results, and recommendations to the Chief Compliance Office, senior leadership team and the Board of Directors as applicable. The Executive Director will be responsible for creating and implementing a data analysis strategy aimed at proactively identifying potential concerns, risks, or issues for review and investigation/audit. The data analysis strategy will become part of the overall compliance annual workplan.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, administration, and monitoring of all compliance activities and regulatory guidance; Also responsible for assessing compliance risk and mitigation strategies.
  • Receive, screen, prioritize, assign, and track all concern reports from receipt/initiation to completion.
  • Ensure maintenance of an accurate concern report investigation entries in both EthicsPoint and concern report tracking log.
  • As assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer, liaisons directly with the Office of Inspector General (OIG) CIA Monitor regarding matters related to required disclosures involving significant overpayments, probable violations of law and concern report tracking.
  • Collaborate with other departments (for example, human resources, IT, EHS, and operations) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
  • Consult with Chief Compliance Officer, General Counsel and legal counsel as needed to resolve compliance issues.
  • Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards of conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
  • Develop and oversees a system for confidential reporting and uniform handling of such violations.
  • Acts as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues and concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external compliance and regulatory organizations.
  • When necessary and appropriate, communicates with government regulatory bodies to address issues of significance.
  • Provide reports on a regular basis and as directed or requested, keeps Chief Compliance Officer, senior management, and the Board of Directors informed of the operation and progress of compliance investigations and data analysis efforts.
  • Ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies (e.g., OIG, DOJ) as appropriate or required.
  • Develop and maintain written procedures to ensure timely and quality receipt, prioritization, assignment, and investigation of compliance concerns.
  • Responsible for regularly conducting root cause analysis of resolved concern reports for the purpose of identifying needed or ineffective controls with recommendations presented to senior leaders and the Board of Directors as required by the CIA.
  • Partner with business units to develop proactive reports to identify potential risks, trends, and anomalies that may require investigation or audit.
  • Responsible to the CEO and Board of Directors for all compliance related matters when the Chief Compliance Officer is unavailable.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Utilize Numotion Leadership Principles to perform the job with integrity, compliance, and values consistent with Numotion’s mission.

  • Always provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a matrixed environment, working with cross-functional team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent sense of prioritization, highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and to work under pressure.
  • Familiarity with health care laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Experience conducting and overseeing internal investigations and communicating with regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information discreetly and professionally.

 

PREFERRED COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and build relationships with management and key stakeholders; strong ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior level management.
  • Experience in a Compliance role within healthcare.
  • Understanding of coding and reimbursement systems
