Position Summary: The Manager, Legal Operations will work closely with the legal team and business stakeholders at all levels of the company and is a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual. This role is key in creating processes and practices to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the legal team, facilitate change, implement and leverage cutting-edge technology, and control costs. The role involves managing and supporting projects across the entire legal team and enterprise.

The Manager, Legal Operations must be agile and able to adapt to changing priorities and business needs, the foresight to identify areas of need, and the initiative to generate effective action plans. This position is also responsible for reporting, for technology related to the function and for creating workflows to leverage policies, external benchmarks, and industry best practices.

Primary Accountabilities

Operational (60%)

  • Build and scale legal workflows to increase efficiency and effectiveness and to position Inmar as a market leader
  • Report on key operational and substantive metrics for the practice group that will better inform decision-making, including matter and work product analyses
  • Develop processes and policies to manage outside counsel usage and spend
  • Assist with budget matters and optimizing workflows within the legal department
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Service & Support, Business Development, Regulatory & Compliance, IT, Finance, and other various business units

Leadership (40%)

  • Define and drive strategic and operational initiatives with on-time and on-budget results
  • Identify and implement legal department tools to streamline new or existing practices, as well as manage design, rollout, and training for new systems
  • Manage and supervise others on the legal team, as requested, in order to encourage growth in those associates and ensure adherence to strategic direction of the team received from the Chief Legal Officer

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; J.D. or paralegal certificate preferred
  • 3+ years of experience specific to legal project operations and management in-house or at a law firm (both preferred); or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the major responsibilities/essential functions of the position
  • Prior experience successfully developing operations playbooks and policies
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across different levels and functions in an organization while moving projects forward by gaining support from stakeholders in a cross-functional role
  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional groups (e.g., Finance, Operations, Regulatory, Sales, IT) to set objectives and produce meaningful results
  • Strong experience in developing, implementing, and using legal department technology solutions (e.g., Ironclad, Conga, Intralinks, Salesforce, DocuSign)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage multiple deadlines
  • Resilient, adaptable, and hands-on approach, with a strong desire to make a lasting impact
