What You'll Do!

  • As the Commercial Legal Counsel for the Discovery & Medical and Genomic Medicine teams, you will partner with leadership and their teams in the Americas to help identify opportunities to drive the business forward, e.g. negotiating and closing important commercial, direct sourcing and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Providing Legal & Compliance training to Discovery & Medical and Genomic Medicine teams in the Americas to help them identify and navigate risks that may arise during the course of doing business.
  • Applying legal and business judgment to proposed deals, relationships and other issues requiring legal or compliance attention.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating strategic business agreements and transactions.
  • Advising the business on compliance, privacy, antitrust, commercial disputes, and advertising / promotional matters.

Who You Are!

  • Juris Doctor with excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school. Active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience; significant business law experience at a large law firm or corporate in-house legal department
  • Experience drafting, negotiating and closing commercial and supplier agreements/contracts in a regulated environment (e.g. sale and distribution agreements, supply and professional services procurement agreements etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in project prioritization, effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • 15-25% travel.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in the healthcare or life sciences industry (including the application of privacy laws such as HIPAA and/or GDPR) preferred.
  • Experience engaging and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to influence adoption of business-oriented solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience identifying and resolving legal and compliance issues quickly and effectively and ability to make well-grounded risk calls.

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000 . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
