In the Life Sciences, Frier Levitt has represented pharmacies of all kinds and assisted with regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters. On the Healthcare side, the Firm's clients have included large physician group practices, hospitals, hospital medical staff, ambulatory surgery centers, laboratory companies, as well as the complete panoply of ancillary service providers. Frier Levitt attorneys are licensed in numerous states. The Firm has offices in Pine Brook, New Jersey, and New York City.

Frier Levitt is seeking an experienced Attorney with 5+ years of Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical law, or related experience for our New Jersey or New York City office (will also consider other remote locations) . Candidates should also have experience with and a desire to mentor and lead others. A hybrid or fully remote schedule will be considered.

The Attorney Will Be Responsible For

  • Handling an array of health insurance, managed care, market access, and regulatory related issues on behalf of pharmaceutical, pharmacy, and healthcare clients
  • Handling an interesting and diverse docket of pharmacy and life sciences regulatory issues
  • Providing strategic and legal advice to a wide range of healthcare and life sciences clients, ranging from start-ups to Fortune 10 companies
  • Assessing operational structure and processes of pharmacies and healthcare/life sciences companies, and drafting policies and standard operating procedures, including assisting in the formation of effective compliance programs
  • Analyzing and structuring arrangements among Life Sciences stakeholders, including contracts between pharmacies and pharmaceutical manufacturers, contracts involving hubs, payor contracts, etc.
  • Drafting policies and procedures regarding marketing activities related to pharmacies and drug products
  • Reviewing commercial contracts, payor and managed care agreements, software licensing agreements, services agreements, and central fill agreements
  • Communicating with clients
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of associate attorneys, encompassing contractual, legal, and regulatory analysis and advice.

Requirements

  • JD degree, with excellent academic credentials
  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey or New York in good standing (or licensed in another state with ability/willingness to become admitted in New Jersey or New York); additional admissions in other states a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in practicing law, with at least 3 years focusing on Pharmacy, Life Sciences and/or Healthcare related matters
  • The ideal candidate will have experience advising on pharmaceutical pricing, managed care access and reimbursement, and government pricing requirements
  • Pharmacist, pharmacy technician, doctor, nurse or other types of clinical background or healthcare industry experience a plus
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Familiarity with healthcare laws and regulations required
  • Superior research and writing skills
  • Strong communication skills
