Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for an Environmental Law Attorney. The Environmental Law Attorney will be responsible for providing legal services to the Naco Sanitary District, including advising the District on environmental regulations and compliance, developing regulatory strategies, reviewing enforcement actions, and handling litigation matters.
We have a water trespass violation with the City of Bisbee, and violations of the Clean Water Act, regarding the Naco-Bisbee Sole Source Aquifer, as designated by the EPA.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the bar in the state of California
- 2+ years of experience practicing environmental law
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Experience advising on environmental regulations, compliance, and enforcement
- Experience with litigation strategy and management
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients, government agencies, and community stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with water law and wastewater regulations is a plus
