Job Description

The Junior Paralegal - Real Estate (A) provides support to company real estate attorneys and the various real estate related business units, and (B) prepares certain lease/contract documentation, including estoppels, SNDAs, and lease amendments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of lease/contract documentation, including lease exhibits, lease amendments, estoppels and SNDAs.
  • Review and interpret lease clauses and make recommendations to company attorneys and real estate professionals.
  • Ability to interact with senior and junior level personnel, vendors and outside counsel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Uses discretion when dealing with landlords, lenders, vendors, and outside counsel.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management
  • Regular attendance is required as an essential function of the position

Requirements

Education:

  • Associates degree or some college required, Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Paralegal Certification required
 
Experience (Required):
  • 0-2 years prior paralegal experience; 2+ year experience in a research related role preferred
 
Skills:
  • Knowledge and understanding of routine real estate transactions
  • High level of computer skills
  • Strong legal research skills
  • Ability to work in high volume high paced environment
  • Must be a team player and able to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask, detail oriented, exceptional follow up skills and able to meet deadlines
  • The ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule
  • The ability to review legal documents for accuracy
  • Law firm and/or corporate experience preferred
 
Skills (Preferred/Desired):
  • Proficient using standard Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
 

Physical Requirements

General office environment requiring ability to:
  • stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time
  • speak and listen to others in person and over the phone
  • use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports
  • lift up to 15 lbs.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $54,400 – $81,600 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.
