THE OPPORTUNITY

This position works out of our Abbott Park location in the Office of Ethics and Compliance Division.  

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON  

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION

The OEC (Office of Ethics and Compliance) Business Systems Analyst (BSA) contributes to the development, maintenance and enhancement of OEC applications.  They serve as the primary liaison between the OEC IT (Information Technology), Corporate IT and business areas and applies their technology and business experience to formulate solutions to complex business problems.  The OEC  BSA works closely with the OEC IT Manager and may lead department level projects or phases of broader divisional / cross-divisional solutions.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
  • Leads the development of business and functional requirements for OEC-owned systems.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements.
  • Exercises latitude in the approach to problem solving and investigates alternatives, which use existing applications or new technologies and makes recommendations.
  • Conducts system testing and end-user training.
  • Manages projects according to milestones and within budget constraints.

SUPERVISORY / MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May have indirect project team responsibilities.
  • May guide the efforts of less experienced staff.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE

  • Establishes and maintains productive relationships with all levels in the IT and organization, business function, and with external partners.
  • Independently conceives and develops general approaches to the solution of systems problems which require application of basic technical principles.
  • Works within budgetary constraints and as governed by the IT Manager, Office of Ethics & Compliance.  Responsible for organizing and monitoring the efforts of technical and business support staff.
  • Work must be of a high level of dependability and quality, and must meet or exceed defined standards, attaining the desired objectives as identified and agreed upon by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE / TRAINING REQUIRED

  • Minimum 4-7 years of experience in a Systems Analyst role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Customer focused.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
