About This Position

This role will be responsible for managing the base portfolio’s compliance activity during the operational period. The Manager will work closely with IT, Engineering, Legal, and others to collaboratively maintain project compliance, provide strategic leadership in the identification of upcoming requirements, and manage the cross functional planning and implementation process. This position is a key contributing role to the Operations Team. This position will report to the Director, Operational Compliance, Operations.

Overview Of Department

The Operations Team is currently composed of nine team members in Operations, Compliance, and Asset Management roles. The Manager, Operational Compliance will be a key team member as we operate a 2+ GW portfolio and battery portfolio expansions in 2024.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Provide leadership and guidance in compliance activities to support requirements with NERC, PUC, and ISO standards, and others as necessary
  • Manage activities related to risk analysis, internal controls implementation, documentation verification, monitoring, and reporting
  • Monitor existing and new compliance requirements, identify potential impact to compliance program and communicate any impacts and support technical SMEs during implementation
  • Lead and make regulatory filings which may include managing and coordinating outside counsel, consultants, internal SMEs, and other project personnel
  • Partner with all levels of cross-functional teams and subject matter experts throughout the organization to analyze, recommend and support compliance implementation and corrective action efforts, as needed
  • Design and manage internal assessments, evaluate compliance, investigate potential noncompliance violations, and design appropriate corrective actions and mitigation plans to address identified internal control weaknesses and compliance evidence deficiencies
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with regulators, internal teams, and third-party service providers
  • Support technical SMEs in identifying mitigations and providing project management support of technical compliance related projects
  • Actively participate in industry organizations, conferences, workshops, and forums regarding internal controls for existing and new standards and requirements
  • Support compliance on-boarding of solar projects during the construction phases

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or similar discipline or related work experience
  • 5+ years of work experience in NERC compliance and the electric regulatory industry
  • Familiarity with ERCOT and CAISO
  • Highly organized
  • Attention to detail
  • Project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Able to thrive in a remote environment

Physical And Sensory Requirements

  • Mostly sedentary work; using standard office equipment including: a computer, keyboard, and telephone.
  • Position is part of a remote team, with regular electronic and video communication
  • Position requires some travel for company-wide meetups: ~4 weeks total through a calendar year.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: $140,000 base salary with 20-25%% annual target bonus
