The Aguirre Law Firm is an established and trusted immigration law firm with a strong team motivated by the positive changes they create for our clients and immigrant community. Our Team is looking for a like minded Attorney with the same values and motivations.

Qualifications:

  • License to practice law in the State of California
  • Must have 1 - 3 years of experience practicing immigration
  • Knowledge of USCIS and EOIR procedures and case management
  • Ability work and maintain a caseload of 150+ cases
  • Must be fluent to speak and write in both English and Spanish REQUIRED
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

  • Reliable Transportation
  • Be Flexible to work from two Office Locations Los Angeles, and Van Nuys would be helpful, but not required.

Job Duties and Skills:

This Attorney should have the capacity to manage an array of tasks including but not limited to

  • Meet with Department Manager/Attorney and team to assure we are meeting deadlines and completing tasks
  • Review and prepare EOIR & USCIS Filing as needed
  • Help develop, implement, and assist in following procedures to ensure we are meeting EOIR Immigration requirements
  • Help create, implement and update training material/checklist to assure team is up to date on law and procedures
  • Help facilitate daily or weekly meetings to foster and environment of open communication and collaboration with team and management
  • Calendar management to avoid conflicts and prioritize workload equitably
  • Contribute ideas to further the company mission
  • Conduct file and calendar reviews to assure the timeliness of work and to keep the team accountable.
  • Analysis cases to identify issues, and potential conflicts and communicate with clients issues and set expectations.
  • Research relevant statutes, case law, new legal developments and potential arguments
  • Meet and discuss overall case game plans and theory with supervising attorney
  • Prepare clients for interview and set up expectations
  • Draft Motions, Waivers, Declarations, Litigation Briefs as needed
  • Documents client communications and case notes
  • Communicate effectively with clients to assure client satisfaction
  • Work 1 Saturday per month, as needed.
  • Other case management related tasks to assist office as a team player
  • Register, organize and file file/case correspondence from the government and clients
  • Notes and data entry and upkeep of our company software
  • Ability and hand dexterity to type at least 45 wpm
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook, internet proficient
  • Ability to occasionally lift large case files of an excess weight of 25 Lbs.
  • Ability to arrive punctually from Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
