Contract Specialist

OPEXUS seeks to expand our legal, compliance, and contract management team with the addition of a talented contract specialist. In this high-impact role, you will help support activities across our organization, including sales, finance, service, HR, and product departments by drafting, reviewing, managing, and negotiating key agreements with customers, vendors, and partners. You will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for experience in the dynamic intersection between technology, commercial partnerships, and government contracting.

Your Role

  • Manage the contract lifecycle to ensure the smooth flow of contract execution and administration.
  • Create and manage a database of contract templates, such as non-disclosures, partnership agreements, teaming agreements, subcontracts, vendor agreements, and independent contractor agreements.
  • Implement and support reporting and contractual data collection
  • Draft, negotiate, review and administer complex, high-value, multifaceted contracts, working closely with business stakeholders and partners.
  • Perform regular analytic, legal and business reviews of contractual language in contracts, schedules and amendments.
  • Exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making, including knowing when to escalate contract matters and issues when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with all levels of the company to gather, analyze, summarize and prepare recommendations on contracting strategies, practices and procedures.
  • Respond to requests from internal departments for contractual support, data or document requests, and opinions
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local business laws and regulations and company policies.

Desired Experience

  • Must have experience and working knowledge of federal contracting (FAR, DFAR, SAM) and teaming and subcontract arrangements, including key clauses, processes, and requirements
  • System experience includes: O365, Salesforce, NetSuite, Federal acquisition systems (SAM, etc.). Hands-on experience with legal operations software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated interest and commitment to a career in the law, contract administration, or compliance is a plus.
