  • As Legal Counsel at Capchase, you will play a crucial role in shaping and protecting the legal framework of all our business segments
  • Provide legal guidance and counsel on a broad range of legal matters, including contract negotiations, litigation, and risk management
  • Ideate with the Product, Ops, and Compliance team to build new products
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including vendor agreements and customer contracts
  • Lead and manage matters with  external legal service providers
  • Assist in the creation of new capital market facilities
  • Oversee and address any legal disputes, working with external counsel when necessary
  • Develop and execute strategies to resolve legal issues efficiently
  • Monitor and provide guidance on changes in laws and regulations like anti-money laundering,, KYC obligations, emerging lending regulations, etc., that may affect the company's operations
  • J.D. degree from an A.B.A. accredited law school; admitted to practice in NY 
  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience with significant in-house experience at a financial services or tech company in a regulated industry
  • Good business judgment combined with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, experienced with managing numerous matters simultaneously and able to adapt to shifting priorities
  • Experience working on cross-jurisdictional matters and with a global team
  • Significant experience negotiating commercial and partnership agreements
