As a Commercial Lead Risk Specialist, you will report to the Commercial Operations Region Leader for P&M for America within the Global Commercial Operations function with the mission to "Protect and profitably grow BH PPS through winning proposals and commercial process excellence". Working as part of the America’s team the Commercial Lead Risk Specialist is responsible for contract negotiation, compliance with contract commitments and commercial risk assessment.

 

As a Commercial Lead Risk Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing and manage the commercial risk associated with contractual agreements to be executed in the region.
  • Understanding and implementing relevant Policies and Procedures applicable to the Inquire-to-Order (ITO) organization, specifically those related to key terms such as Indemnification, Warranties, International Trade Compliance, Insurance, Payment terms, etc.
  • Reviewing commercial and contractual documentation to identify risks and deviation from Baker Hughes risk profile, associating them with the right level of approval following the established Delegation of Authority
  • Reviewing final contract versions to validate all terms negotiated and/or agreed, are properly reflected prior to the document being signed.
  • Working together with the leadership and support functions to determine that appropriate mitigations for the risks have been identified and ensure such mitigations are incorporated in the agreements.
  • Acting as the internal owner of agreements, responsible for documenting changes including performing the redlining of contracts and/or term sheets for the correct tracking of modifications in the contractual documents
  • Developing strong working partnerships with other functions (Sales, Legal, Finance, Tax, Operations, etc.) to enable effective communication, on-time responses, improved information flow to help shape winning and profitable bids
  • Partnering with RSM’s, Account Managers and Regional Com-Ops managers to help negotiate and agree favorable contracts with customers.
  • Working with regions to devise and execute regional strategy around T&C’s approach


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with at least 5 years of experience in a Commercial environment
  • Have Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Risk Mitigation
  • Have prior experience in the Oil & Gas Industry preferred
  • Be financially & commercially astute – an understanding of contracts, business financials and commercial risk.
  • Have good communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex information in a simplified fashion.
  • Have excellent organizational skills and ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
  • Be results orientated, self-driven individual with passion, drive, energy and ability to influence without authority in a multi-disciplinary, matrixed environment.
  • Have experience in a Paralegal or similar legal role preferred
