The Siegel Group Nevada, Inc. is a privately held real estate and management firm with a rapidly expanding property and investment portfolio across the United States, and we are looking for the ideal candidate to join us as in-house Deputy General Counsel - Litigation. Reporting to the General Counsel, the Deputy General Counsel - Litigation will be exceptionally well organized and have a pragmatic and professional nature. This individual will primarily focus on handling all litigation for the company, including supervising / mentoring others.

The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills and the ability to work independently, as well as a strong, positive presence and strong advocacy ability. They will have experience analyzing, researching, and drafting briefs, addressing sophisticated legal issues on complex litigation, ranging from motions to dismiss, summary judgment and pre-trial motions. Must also have experience with first char in trials, taking and defending depositions, briefing, and arguing dispositive and discovery motions, interfacing with opposing counsel, and attending court appearances. Experience with general commercial and personal injury litigation is strongly preferred.

What You Will Do : · Manage an assigned caseload from beginning to end, interacting with in-house and outside counsel, as appropriate. Prepare court documents, legal memoranda, and other papers for filing in litigation and administrative matters; conduct discovery, including depositions. Analyze and respond to legal demands and claims. · Provide oral and written reports and recommendations on findings and outcomes to the General Counsel and other key company officers. When appropriate, make recommendations for action and implementation. · Represent the company in trials and hearings in state, federal and local courts, and before state and federal administrative and regulatory agencies.

What You Will Need : · A minimum of ten years of demonstrated litigation experience including trial experience. · JD from an ABA-accredited law school with a license, in good standing, to practice law in Nevada · Strong business acumen and the ability to quickly analyze complex situations, determine key issues and prepare and implement clearly defined strategies. · Demonstrated ability to work with initiative when managing multiple projects, under constant deadline pressure and limited supervision. · Outstanding academics and excellent research skills along with entrepreneurial drive is preferred, along with experience at an in-house legal department. Nevada bar admission required. · Strong desire to learn the business and support and provide advice to applicable business units.

Essential Functions/Exposures : · Must be able to sit for extended periods of time · Must be able to type and talk on the phone for extended periods of time · Regular attendance in the office Monday to Friday
