Job Description:

What You’ll Do

  • Reviews, drafts, negotiates contracts that accurately reflect business requirements while minimizing risk to Discover.

  • Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

 

How You’ll Do It

  • With attorney oversight, reviews, drafts, negotiates moderately complex agreements in consultation with the advisory attorneys, business partners and other SMEs as needed. Ensures that corporate and legal guidelines around contracts are followed. Determines the appropriate contract template to use for a transaction and draft supplementary contract language. Collaborates with the Strategic Sourcing team to develop RFPs and RFIs.

  • Utilizes the Discover contract management tool to manage workflow, track contracts and retain accurate contract records.

  • Exercises prudent discretion and decision-making capabilities to draft contracts, complete projects, and enhance programs or processes, with attorney oversight. Continuously improve processes.

  • Ensures that contracts, programs, projects, and assigned policies, procedures and controls are implemented to remain compliant with laws, regulations and any company reporting requirements. Ensures efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.

  • Communicates effectively with colleagues, clients, and management, third parties and counterparties as necessary to provide information and/or make decisions. Communicates updates and escalations to clients, colleagues, and management, as necessary.

 

Qualifications You’ll Need

The Basics

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management, or related field

  • 4+ years of experience in drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, or related field

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $75,500.00 to $127,900.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
