Our General and Professional Liability defense teams offer experienced, aggressive counsel to defend lawsuits brought against large or small corporations, insurance carriers and their insured clients, transportation providers, and numerous professionals. Our group of trial attorneys offers extensive knowledge in each of the disciplines that make up an effective liability management team. We also provide experienced coverage analysis and opinions on all forms of liability insurance and risk management issues to insurers and businesses including reservation of rights and declaratory judgment coverage litigation. We work closely with our clients and their insurers to mount an aggressive defense to effectively and expeditiously resolve the claim or successfully try it when appropriate.

Mazanec, Raskin & Ryder is actively recruiting an attorney to join its General Liability/Professional Liability practice groups. Ambitious candidates should have no less than 1 to 3 years' litigation experience in Federal, State and/or local courts. Candidates with more extensive experience are also encouraged to apply.

Requisite Skills For This Position

• Oversee all aspects of pending litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions and briefs.
• Proficiency in preparing and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and communicating with expert witnesses.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
• Excellent research, writing and oral advocacy abilities.
• Motivated to develop deep analytical skills to evaluate and resolve complex legal issues.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
• The ability to work collaboratively with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, courts and opposing counsel.
