Position Summary

As a Legal Assistant at Giles Law, you'll be part of a dynamic team that values integrity, excellence, and community. Your role will involve meticulous organization, detailed management of case files, undertaking various law office/litigation support tasks, and working diligently under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Case File Management: Open new case files, including running conflict checks, scheduling consults, drafting fee agreements, and setting up files in the case management software.
  • Office Administration: Maintain office supplies, manage mail and deliveries, and ensure the distribution of mail to appropriate individuals.
  • Client Correspondence: Prepare and send out mailings to clients, third parties, and opposing counsel, including managing postage costs.
  • Document Handling: File case documents, record filing/service fees, and maintain digital records of pleadings and case documents for accuracy.
  • Deadline Coordination: Docket and calendar all case-related deadlines, encompassing court-imposed deadlines and internal deadlines as requested by attorneys.
  • Event and Meeting Organization: Schedule events, meetings, and Zoom calls, send out calendar invites and update contact information for all case parties.
  • Case Closure and Billing: Close case files, draft termination letters, prepare run sheets for couriers/process servers, and manage associated costs in the case management system.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in a legal administrative role.
  • Knowledge of office equipment and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Pleasant disposition, willing to work with multiple attorneys (who are all very nice and not jerks to work for. :) )

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary: $50,000+ based on experience and achievement.
