Job Overview

We are actively seeking an experienced and professional in-house Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team in a family business environment. We value individuals who take initiative in their work and embody a proactive can-do attitude. This full time, in-office position is Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Governance, Senior Paralegal.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Contract Management:  efficiently manage and organize contracts, agreements, and legal documentation relevant to the company’s operations.
  • Drafting Legal Documents:  prepare, review, and edit legal documents, including, but not limited to, NDAs, EB-5 project documents, third-party agreements, developer questionnaires, lease agreements, and amendments.
  • Litigation:  support outside counsel by compiling, reviewing, redacting, and organizing information and documents. Also, responsible for compiling requested documentation pertaining to books and records request.
  • EB-5:  responsible for reviewing, redacting and submitting Freedom of Information Act requests. Assist outside counsel with governmental filing by gathering the required documents. Assist with drafting applicable project legal documents, such as escrow agreements, pre-subscription agreements, etc. Responsible for tracking and reviewing agent information/documents to ensure compliance with company and USCIS.
  • Support:  provide comprehensive support to the Director of Corporate Governance, Senior Paralegal, General Counsel, and Deputy General Counsel in various legal matters, as well as other internal departments as needed.
  • Insurance Assistance:  assist with insurance matters, including tracking policies, requesting policies and endorsements, and managing renewals.
  • File Management:  efficiently organize and maintain case files, including document indexing, deadline tracking, and records management, ensuring easy access to critical information.
  • To perform any other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • 5 to 6 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Demonstrates a high level of initiative
  • Insurance experience is a plus
