Position Specific Description

Florida Power & Light is seeking a qualified attorney who will handle a diverse and demanding case load of personal injury and property damage cases. A candidate will be expected to handle these cases from inception through trial (if necessary) with minimal supervision. Performs all legal work required to handle all aspects of litigation concerning the Company, whether it is prosecuting actions on behalf of or defending the Company. The employee will also provide general advice to the business when necessary. The ideal candidate will be an experienced attorney with 5 + years of experience handling all aspects associated with the defense of personal injury cases, including trial. Member of the Florida Bar is required.

  • Provides written and oral legal advice to clients
  • Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization
  • Works to ensure budget compliance and avoids the need for outside counsel
  • Ensures disclosure of potentially material legal issues to senior leadership
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Member in Good Standing of State Bar
  • High School Grad / GED
  • Juris Doctorate
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience:5+ years
