Description: Rudman Winchell, a general practice law firm, is seeking attorneys to join our growing Ellsworth, Maine office. You will be responsible for representing clients in legal matters and advising them on legal issues. You will be required to conduct legal research, interpret laws, and make recommendations based on your findings. You will also be responsible for drafting legal documents, such as contracts, wills, and legal briefs. Responsibilities:

  • Representing clients in court and before government agencies, as necessary.
  • Conducting thorough legal research and interpreting laws.
  • Managing multiple tasks and prioritizing workload effectively.
  • Drafting legal documents and correspondence.
  • Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Presenting analyses and conclusions in pleadings, memoranda, and correspondence (where applicable).
  • Communicating with clients, professionals, and other parties involved in the legal process.

Requirements: Qualifications: Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in the state of Maine. Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities for anticipating challenges and providing valuable insights. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional writing abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines. Familiarity with legal research databases and technology tools. Experience in a specific area of law, such as real estate law, corporate law, litigation or estate planning, is preferred. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate with a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff and provide authorized information with ordinary courtesy and tact. Strong sense of responsibility and accountability. Adaptability, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel to private and public buildings locally and statewide via private or public conveyance to attend to client needs on legal matters.
